A mother of a 13-month-old and her boyfriend have been charged with murder with the death of her 13-month-old daughter who was overdosed with heroin and cocaine.
The 27-year-old Rachel Ball and the 34-year-old Joshua Bennett were charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and assault.
The pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica said that the 13-month-old baby Kayleigh died because of pneumonia and respiratory failure which was resulted by the heroin and cocaine toxication.
Joshua Bennett pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Thursday morning and then another not guilty plea in the afternoon.
The case of the couple consists of a total of 17 charges. The baby was found lifeless at their home and can no longer be given any medical treatments.
The Washington County DA then vows to give justice for the death of Kayleigh Mae.
