This can be extremely painful as it blocks the flow of saliva in the mouth. This causes dryness in the submandibular gland at the floor of the mouth and can affect parotid glands in the insides of the cheeks, and the sublingual glands under the tongue. This usually occurs when chemicals from the saliva accumulate in the salivary glands.
