Instead of a warm greeting, a balikbayan from Saudi Arabia was met with disappointment after discovering a big slash on the side of his luggage.
In a recent interview with GMA News, the OFW who refused to be named returned to the country last June 25 boarding a plane from Saudia Airlines.
He got off from his flight in National Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 1 then he proceeded to get his belongings from the conveyor belt. However, he was met with surprise and confusion after seeing a big rip on the side on one of his bags.
After thoroughly checking, he pointed out that several of his personal belongings, including a cellphone were missing. He immediately reported the incident to the NAIA officials who were guarding the conveyor belt.
Apparently, the guards concluded that the slash was resulted from the luggage getting caught with other bags. The OFW approached several NAIA personnels and guards to report what happened but none of them can point out the right place in filing a report.
Weary from the incident and excited to see his family, he decided to not pursue in reporting what happened and instead went home. But good thing is he didn't let the incident went unnoticed, he posted his story along with several photos in the social media.
For future reference, GMA News also included that if the same incident happened to you, you should immediately bring this to the attention of the airport personnels.
