Everyone was a little skeptical with the screening of Heneral Luna in cinemas at first. It was even issued that the movie should be pulled out from the watch list to give way for international movies. But despite that, Luna proved to be a successful historical movie that us Filipinos should be patronizing and be proud of.
And as it proved itself to be a box office hit, a sequel is now in the works! This time it centers around the character of Gregorio "Goyong" del Pilar, a young general during the Philippine-American war who lead the Battle at Tirad Pass.
Luna's sequel was confirmed by heneral.luna instagram account along with a photo of director Jerold Tarrog and actor Paulo Avelino, who will play the role Del Pilar.
“Bago niyo pa marinig sa iba, eto na: #GOYONG tuloy na tuloy na!” read the caption.
