Our kidneys are one of the most vital organs we have in our body.
Afterall, a kidney's job is to filter out the waste from our blood and regulate blood pressure. The organ is responsible for keeping our electrolytes levels stable - balancing alkaline and acid in the body. This in turn makes the kidney responsible for overall bone health.
The organ is so important that if a person experiences 'kidney failure' then that person won't survive without dialysis or a kidney transplant. Kidneys, like all organs, are prone to the effects of aging. As you get older, the kidney's function will decline as well.
It is imporant then to watch out for any signs that your kidney may not be at 100%. The symptoms are very subtle, but you should be able to spot them after you read this article.
Seek a medical professional's advice if certain symptoms appear.
Check yourself for any of these 8 symptoms
1. Swollen Body Parts.
Fluid retention in body parts like your legs, ankles, feet, hands or face is a sign that something is happening to your excretory system. The kidney regulates the water in body - so if swelling occurs then that's reason to believe something is wrong.
2. Nausea (Vomiting)
If your kidneys dont completely filter your blood, then you're going to notice a change in your constitution. Nausea or a general feeling of malaise is a common sign that your blood is full of toxins. This ill-feeling could induce vomitting.
3. Metallic Taste In Mouth
Bad breath and a lingering metallic taste in your mouth can be caused by declining kidney functions. This is also tied with the sense of taste and appetite. Food, particularly meat, will often change taste. This leads to a decline in appetite which may cause weight loss as well.
