The Los Angeles-based Filipino Designer comes to the rescue of the Miss Universe Philippines Pia Wurtzbach as she faced a 'National Emergency'.
Behind the stunning red evening gown that includes Swarovski-encrusted bodice and a high slit in front, no one knew that Pia had a wardrobe emergency in the night of the preliminary competition of the Miss Universe.
The night before the competition, Oliver Tolentino had a call from Las Vegas claiming that she needed a wonderful gown as a substitute for the prestigious pageant when the gown that was prepared for her did not fit well.
Tolentino had to cut short his skiing in Aspen and did what he could do to help the Philippines. He made several calls and brought 9 gowns from his newly opened boutique in Beverly Hills.
He gave her as many options as he could to help her find the perfect wedding for the pageant.
“I have no idea why this was all so last minute, but anyway, I was happy to help Pia and the Philippines, even though I was not there,” Oliver said.
