This Man Has Been Enduring Swelling In His Mouth But When He Found This Inside, He Freaked Out!

A video spread like wildfire across social media because of its bizarre subject showing a man trying to extract a stone-like thing at the bottom of his tongue!

Brandon Douglas had been enduring a painful swelling inside his mouth for days. He can feel something hard inside, which felt like a stone. He described the ordeal in a Reddit post.

“I had some swelling on my sublingual gland which is right under your tongue. It had some pus/mucus stuff coming out so I had it looked at.”

When he visited the dentist, he was able to confirm that it was indeed a stone -- a salivary gland stone. “Dentist said it was probably a stone developing. Four days later I end up pushing that bad boy out.I guess it’s from not staying hydrated and some other factors. I stay pretty hydrated so I’m hoping it was a fluke,” he shared.

Salivary gland stones usually appear as calcified structures which form in the salivary gland or duct. This can be extremely painful as it blocks the flow of saliva in the mouth. This causes dryness in the submandibular gland at the floor of the mouth and can affect parotid glands in the insides of the cheeks, and the sublingual glands under the tongue. This usually occurs when chemicals from the saliva accumulate in the salivary glands. However, its exact cause isn't identified yet.

While doctors have the instruments to have these stones removed, Brandon opted to remove it himself. He then recorded the extraction and the result is definitely gruesome. Many netizens were disgusted with the video but nonetheless thanked Brandon for making them aware of this condition.
